Terms of service
These terms govern your use of the Wordbrush app ("the app"), published by Urban Algorithm LLC ("we," "us"), on iOS and Android. By installing or using Wordbrush you agree to them. They're short on purpose.
1. The app, in brief
Wordbrush is a Chinese-vocabulary flashcard app. The app and the content bundled with it (words, sentences, audio, radical breakdowns) are licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use. You may not redistribute, decompile, modify, or resell the app or its content. On iOS, the license to use the app itself is also governed by Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement; this page covers the service and any purchases described below.
2. Subscriptions (iPhone and iPad)
Wordbrush is free to everyone, in full: no purchase is required to use any part of it, and the app offers nothing for sale while that is the case. If subscriptions or purchases are offered in the future, current pricing will be shown in the app and on the App Store listing, and payment, billing, and renewal will be handled entirely by Apple through your App Store account, not by us.
Any future subscription would renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of its period, and would be manageable in your device's Settings under Subscriptions.
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us, under Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions. To request one, use Report a Problem at reportaproblem.apple.com or contact Apple Support.
3. Acceptable use
Don't use Wordbrush to do anything illegal, to interfere with the app's operation, or to attempt to extract, scrape, or redistribute its content or code. Don't attempt to circumvent the app's licensing.
4. No warranties
The app is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Wordbrush will not make you fluent in Mandarin on its own; it is one of several tools we hope you'll use alongside conversation, reading, and grammar study.
5. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Urban Algorithm LLC and its representatives shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the app, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of study progress, or any indirect economic loss.
6. Privacy
See the privacy policy for what Wordbrush collects, which on iPhone and iPad is limited to an anonymous subscription ID, and on Android is nothing at all.
7. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms occasionally. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent change. Significant changes will be surfaced inside the app on the first launch after they ship.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Sheridan County, Wyoming.
